Consumption

Consumption has always been a regular and normal day to day action across our globe. From an early age you learn to buy and sell to make a living when you get older. Everyone is constantly exposed to ads almost every minute of everyday telling us to buy the best new things that come out. It is in human blood to consume and shop.
I question if this is really healthy, or whether it really is not our choice that makes us consume all this products. The documentary "Consumed" throws the idea out that consumption will destroy us all. This is where my own ideas begin to wonder as well. If it is our own choices that make us consume and buy the things that we do, then why are there so many ads promoting every little gadget that comes out? Would it not be enough to let us go and find what we need ourselves? Items are being forced down our throats, and pressured onto us, adds are trying to get persuade children into getting their parents to buy them the things they see on commercials. When objects are constantly being thrown at us daily, I do not believe that is our own human nature that makes us go out to consume those things. The economy thrives from the money that we spend on these consumables. We are just the products of a lesser power being drained by the economy for their own satisfaction. The power really belongs to the people making us want to buy the products. It is impossible to avoid the ads and commercials in the run of a day. You are exposed to almost 5,000 ads a day. That is 5000 products that are trying to get you to consume your hard earned money for the sake of the economy.
Humans are now the ideal product that the economy is trying to sell to buying their products and giving them their money. It is people who look like their being consumed more.
